I’m a software engineer at Hitachi working on embedded systems and OS-level features for edge devices. Before that I did stints in data science and ML engineering, built a healthcare RAG pipeline at a US startup, an AI agent system for sales call analysis.

Right now I’m spending a lot of my time outside work on two things. One is building language models for Tulu and Sanskrit low-resource languages with rich literary traditions that are mostly invisible to modern NLP.

Building a physics reasoning model that tries to derive answers from first principles.

I’m also working through a pile of papers on diffusion models and reinforcement learning, usually by rebuilding the architectures from scratch. Reading a paper and then implementing it cold is the only way I’ve found to know whether I actually understood it.

Outside of ML, I follow rocket launches obsessively — SpaceX and ISRO both. I read a lot of geopolitics and Indic history, and I’m perpetually fascinated by how the same political and civilisational patterns seem to repeat across centuries.
